چکیده

Social network analysis is concerned not only with social relations (Wellman 1988), but also more generally with attributes across pairs of social actors, which are referred to as dyadic attributes (Borgatti and Everett 1987, p. 243). These dyadic attributes range from shared affiliations to distances between cities to similarities in respondents’ answers to items on a questionnaire. While most network studies have investigated one-mode networks (Borgatti and Everett 1987), social network approaches are easily extended to two-mode data, such as the relationship between employees and work teams with which they are affiliated (Wasserman and Faust 1994). In two-mode networks, different types of nodes (e.g., employees and teams) are represented as different modes. Unlike typical affiliation networks (for a primer on affiliation networks, please refer to Wasserman and Faust 1994;

Network Location and Risk of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Transmission among ‎Injecting Drug Users: Results of Multiple Membership Multilevel Modeling of Social ‎Networks

Background: Despite the implementation of harm reduction program, some injecting drug users (IDU) continue to engage in high-risk behaviors. It seems that there are some social factors that contribute to risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transmission in IDUs. The aim of this study was to analysis the social network of IDUs and examines the effect of network location on HIV transmission...

A Direct Power Feeding System for AC Railway Networks Using Modular Multilevel Converter

Abstract Traditional railway power supply systems impose substantial power quality problems (PQ) on the utility network, such as unbalance, harmonics and a large amount of reactive power. This paper proposes a topology based on three-phase to single-phase modular multilevel converters (MMC) to obviate these problems. The MMC based traction substations (TSS) are connected directly to the utili...

Single ‎A‎ssignment Capacitated Hierarchical Hub Set Covering Problem for Service Delivery Systems Over Multilevel Networks

The present study introduced a novel hierarchical hub set covering problem with capacity constraints. This study showed the significance of fixed charge costs for locating facilities, assigning hub links and designing a productivity network. The proposed model employs mixed integer programming to locate facilities and establish links between nodes according to the travel time between an origin-...

Automatic Annotation in Multirelational Information Networks

Many networks are completely encapsulated using a single node type and a single edge type. Often a more complicated model composed of multiple distinct node and edge types can be constructed to create a more informative network [2]. We call the former homogeneous networks and the latter heterogeneous. The ability to homogenize networks varies wildly, dependent on the network under analysis and ...

A Multirelational Social Network Analysis of an Online Health Community for Smoking Cessation

BACKGROUND Online health communities (OHCs) provide a convenient and commonly used way for people to connect around shared health experiences, exchange information, and receive social support. Users often interact with peers via multiple communication methods, forming a multirelational social network. Use of OHCs is common among smokers, but to date, there have been no studies on users' online ...
